Annual report(2012-13):
In our society we have never given any importance to the women folk who have time again been confined to the interior of the house. When given small opportunities they have excelled. NET therefore decided to empower the needy poor women hailing from rural as well as urban slums economically by promoting SHGs and then by starting their own micro enterprises by availing micro credit from financial institution.
As a social welfare organization promoting equal rights & social justice among all, we are actively involving these deprived sections of the society in activities, which will empower them economically and socially so that they can contribute in the national building process.
Till date NET has promoted 28 SHGs and during the year on report 50 more poor ladies were provided micro credit and subsequent back up assistance for starting their micro enterprise in Sonepur block of Subarnapur district. They were provided necessary skill up gradation training in their concerned trades and provided other follow up assistance for marketing the products. They are now self dependant & earning decently to supplement their family income.
Annual report(2012-13):
We, the Indians boast of a society which takes pride universally for its great social and traditional values, unique cultural heritage. Notwithstanding the sublimely of our society, there is a flaw in our societal form i.e., it is predominantly patriarchal giving undue importance to males and their chauvinism thereby reducing the females into mere service providers, a secondary status compared to their counterpart. As a social welfare organization promoting equal rights & social justice among all, we are actively involving these deprived sections of the society in different activities which will empower them economically and socially so that they can become an active partner of social change & development.
Socio Economic Empowerment of the rural poor women through SHG and Micro Enterprise Development is at the moment one of the very effective method of promoting social inclusion. Till the end of the reporting year NET has 50 nos. of active SHGs involving 620 nos. of poor and ambitious ladies hailing from 34 villages of Bhubaneswar block of Khurda district. All the members are having their own micro enterprise with micro credit from financial institutions. All the members are regularly having thrift and credit program. NET, during the year organized three Capacity Building Programs for the SHG leaders for enhancing their capacity and leadership qualities. Two nos. of training programs for SHG members were organized in Micro Enterprise Development and EDP at Malaopada under the reporting year.
